Brief Biography

Robert Higgins is a civil engineer with the Queensland Department of Main Roads. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (Civil) and Master of Engineering Science, majoring in Transportation. In 1999, he was awarded the Public Service Medal in recognition of his efforts in the delivery of the Pacific Motorway project. Mr Higgins joined the Department as a cadet engineer in 1971 and has worked on major transport infrastructure projects throughout the State of Queensland. In the last five years, Mr Higgins has held the role of Project Director on the $900 million Pacific Motorway project, Queensland's largest road infrastructure project. Mr Higgins is currently the District Director for the South Coast Hinterland District of the department.
